Those who hold Nigeria and indeed Nigerians by the balls have mastered the art of political chicanery. They understand perfectly how to use the existing grass root machinery of each local government to win elections. They understand how to win state elections local government by local government and how to win each local government ward by ward.
Sadly many of those who wish to unseat these corrupt political juggernauts do not understand this at all. So, there action shows they only subscribe to wishful thinking. Many still do not understand that elections are not won by mere campaigning and advertising on the radio and TV. They have done this for years and do not realise that it is not working.
A few who wish to displace the corrupt politicians understand the power of grass root politicking but do not realise that the existing structures have been hijacked and that no matter how they try they would not break their undying loyalty to their longtime political benefactors.
Building A Parallel System
The only solution is to build a parallel and superior political campaign system that will overshadow the results of the traditional political structures in Nigeria and which can neither be hijacked nor controlled by unproductive and incompetent leaders.
Till now the percentage of eligible voters who have voting apathy is higher than those who actually vote. Many will vote when they can be assured that their votes will count. These set of people are our target audience and they will be mobilised first online and then straight to the election ground to put an end to the status quo.
